Woman comes to live with daughter, dies by suicide
Ghaziabad: A 65-year-old woman allegedly jumped to her death from the balcony of the 29th floor of Trine Tower, a high-rise in Indirapuram’s Ahinsa Khand 2, early on Wednesday morning.According to ACP (Indirapuram) Abhishek Srivastava, the woman, a resident of Vasundhara, had come to stay at her daughter’s house in Trine Tower on April 19. She was living with her son after her husband passed away a year ago. She was suffering from depression since her husband’s death, police said.Around 3am on Wednesday, security personnel rushed out after hearing a loud noise and found the woman’s body on the bonnet of a car parked below the tower. Security and residents dialled 112 to report the incident, but residents at the time had no information on the woman’s identity.Police arrived at the scene and eventually sent security guards up to the 29th floor after determining the woman had fallen from there. Guards informed the woman’s daughter and son-in-law what had happened and asked them to identify her body.While the family initially refused an autopsy, they eventually agreed after counselling, the ACP said. Reports are awaited and the body has since been handed over to the family, he added.
